Deontays Wilder has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Premier League side Manchester United, with his agent confirming the defender is to move on from Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old, who spent two seasons with the Red Devils, was linked with a move to the Championship for years.
However, the club have announced that the former Real Madrid defender has decided to sign a new deal with United.
“Deontay has been at United for two years now and it is a privilege to have him here,” United manager Louis van Gaal told Sky Sports News HQ.
Van Gaal said that the transfer is in the best interests of the club.
United have had a good season in the Premier League, but they still need to make sure they continue to build for the future.
They are now four points clear at the top of the Premier Ligue 1 table.
