I don’t know about you, but I’m a bit of a video camera nut.
I love to shoot video.
So much so that I’ve spent years looking for the perfect video camera to bring to the table.
For me, there are two main types of cameras.
The first is the camera with the built-in lens, which is what you see in your DSLR.
It’s the camera you use to take stills and video, and is usually a zoom lens with an auto focus lens.
The second type of camera is a compact digital camera that has an interchangeable lens, or sometimes even a mirrorless camera.
It has a dedicated lens, a flash, and a microphone that you can record video.
The one advantage to these cameras is that they can be mounted directly to the frame of your camera, and there are always multiple ways to record video, since you can choose to shoot the same shot at different angles, or a different angle at different times.
But there are some drawbacks to both types of camera.
The most obvious is the fact that video cameras are expensive.
There are cameras for every budget, but if you’re looking for a great value, you’ll probably want to look at a compact camera, or maybe even a full-frame camera like a Canon EOS 60D.
Another advantage of a compact sensor is that it’s cheaper to shoot with it.
The bigger the sensor, the less expensive it is to shoot.
But, of course, that doesn’t mean that a compact-sized camera isn’t good for video.
It just means that you’re less likely to get stuck with an expensive, cumbersome camera.
A compact camera is great for taking stills, and it has a built-up lens that you don’t need to buy new, unless you’re planning to shoot a lot of stills.
You can take still images on a compact system, but you’ll likely be limited to video, which you’ll usually need a tripod to help capture.
The bottom line is that, for me, the best camera for video is a small, compact one that you won’t need much space to put it on.
So, let’s talk about some pros and cons of the three types of digital cameras we’ve discussed so far.
Pros and Cons of Small, Compact Cameras Pros Small cameras are more convenient to use.
You have more room to use them when you need them.
Small cameras can be placed directly on your frame of the camera.
Small sensors are great for video, as they can shoot videos without requiring you to remove your camera from the frame.
You don’t have to deal with bulky lenses and bulky lenses.
They’re easy to clean.
You get a good, fast video feed.
Smaller sensors are more durable.
Smallers cameras usually cost less than larger ones.
They can last longer.
The lens has a better focus, and the camera itself has better optics.
Cons You’re going to need to use a tripod.
Small compact cameras aren’t going to last very long.
If you’re going back and forth between video and stills from time to time, you’re probably going to be using the same camera every time.
That’s not a good thing, so don’t let it discourage you.
If your budget is low enough, you could also consider a full frame camera like the Sony A7R II, which comes with an interchangeable lenses lens.
Pros Compact cameras are good for shooting video, but are less durable than larger cameras.
Small and compact cameras can last for years, which can save you a lot on maintenance and repairs.
They tend to be easier to maintain, and they’re more portable.
They have better optics, which are easier to use and produce sharper images.
They also have more features.
The only downside is that you’ll need a dedicated video camera for filming video.
Cons The price tag isn’t worth it if you want the best of both worlds.
A small, small camera is better for video than a large, large camera.
I think that’s enough of my pros and con.
If the pros and the cons don’t sound like your cup of tea, that’s because they aren’t.
I hope this has helped you decide which camera is the right choice for you.
You’re probably wondering if you should buy a compact, compact, or full frame digital camera.
If not, you can always go to a larger, more expensive camera like an EOS DSLR or a Sony a7R III.
If that’s not the case, you might consider buying a compact or full-sized model, but that will depend on what you need.
