Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight boxing champion, is facing an array of lawsuits and legal challenges related to his infamous use of a “mike” camera during his fight with George Foreman.
A federal judge is hearing arguments in two cases involving the use of the “mikes” camera in the fight, and the lawsuits have raised questions about the legality of using the device in sports.
The first lawsuit was filed in 2015 by Tyson’s former attorney, who claimed the use violated his rights under the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment.
Tyson has long maintained he was not using the camera during the fight.
The judge in the second lawsuit, filed in September, says Tyson was using the “magic” in his fists.
Tyson has not commented on the cases.
The lawsuits, which have raised legal questions about whether the use was legal or not, have raised the ire of the sports world, with the most recent of which comes from former NFL quarterback and NFL Hall of Famer Kurt Warner.
Warner sued Tyson over the use in an online forum.
The lawsuit says the use violates the First Amendment and the United States Constitution’s “due process clause.”
Warner is also suing Tyson in a California court, alleging the “furtherance” of an “unlawful and fraudulent use of property” by the boxer.
The suit was filed on behalf of two fans, who are suing Tyson for damages.
Tensions have been high between the boxing community and the sport, and some fans have taken to social media to express their anger.
“Mike Tyson’s fight against Foreman will likely be remembered for the moment it happened,” wrote one person on social media.
“Mike Tyson has to fight for his right to be in the ring, not just a camera.
The ‘magic’ has to be there for a reason.”
Others have called the use illegal.
“It’s a ridiculous argument.
It’s an absolute lie to try and say that Tyson’s ‘magic” was used,” wrote another.
The court will not hesitate to dismiss these frivolous claims in the event the court finds that the plaintiffs have not demonstrated the necessary level of likelihood of success on the merits,” Levin added.”
The allegations in these lawsuits are baseless and based on a series of lies, and we will vigorously defend these baseless claims against Mike Tyson,” Levin said.

Tens of thousands of people have signed a petition asking the courts to dismiss the lawsuits, and many have been angered by the use.
The lawsuits filed by Tyson and his attorneys have generated controversy. “
We stand ready to vigorously defend this claim against Mike and his team.”
The lawsuits filed by Tyson and his attorneys have generated controversy.
Some fans say the cameras were used as a warning to the boxer to stay away from the ring.
Others say they were just for fun.
Tate has said he doesn’t care if the cameras are used in the court of public opinion.
“If they are going to use them to create some kind of political controversy, I don’t care, it’s not gonna hurt me,” Tyson said in an interview with The Associated Press.
“I am going to fight.
I am going there to win.
I’m going to do whatever I can to win the fight.”
Tyson’s attorney, Levin, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
